How many fans did Miami lose and Cleveland gain?

What he just did to the city of Cleveland is unprecedented. Bad karma, IMO. Miami will become one of the most hated franchises in sports (and one of the most loved... bandwagon).

I can't wait to see the youtube reaction videos of cleveland fans. No offense to them, but that stuff is going to be hilarious.

YOU DO THE MATH!

Precisely. High income tax states lose all sorts of talent (not just athletes) due to ridiculous income taxes.

I don't feel bad for the city of Cleveland. I thought he needed to leave and go outside of that zone. He needs to move on. It's not his fault that Cleveland is such a loser town.

All I can say is ... echh. Don't like this one bit. I don't know why, but this is just worse than what the Yankees do in baseball. It seems anti-competitive.

LeBron will never go down as one of the greatest players now. He ruined his chance to build his own legacy. And beyond that, he tarnished whatever legacy he had by leaving bad taste in everyone's mouths.

Well, at least that is my opinion on the matter. I hope Miami is unable to fill out their roster with decent players and fails to make the playoffs.

People appreciate an underdog. People tend to think less of the success of an organization that 'buys' a championship. I don't really mind what Miami did as a business, but the players trying to get together, in their prime, is questionable, and LeBron, already on a good team, fired their coach who was winning, turns tail to play on a stacked team? Who gives a **** if he wins a championship by colluding with two other stars in their prime. Up the *** of that.

Cleveland was his team, built around him, warred into the finals three years ago, two consecutive seasons of best reg record. His team, his town, his people. He was a cultural icon, not just a jock with bling. I know they needed some assistance, but they were working on it. They tried to get Bosh. He did not want to play for LeBron's team, for his town, for his people. So LeBron went to play on THEIR team, for THEIR lame fans, in THEIR town. Jilted his team and went for the hot new squad. 'This foxhole looks dodgy, that one looks hot...see ya!' That is not the move of a warrior, of a guy who wants to lead the troops into battle. Yuck.

Gross. I was a big fan. No more. Had he gone to NY I would have rooted for him. This was a total sell out, capitulation, a raw, pitiful vote of no confidence in his own team, his own scenario. No other player meant so much to their fans, the team, the town, etc. That meant nothing to him in comparison to trying to hoist a trophy. F that. His legacy is blown. He is just another guy bouncing around looking for hardware. Blown.

And all on TV, for the world to see, in a ridiculous, absolutely pedestrian display of self-importance and poor taste. Dragged it out for an hour. Maybe he and Geraldo can excavate on of Capone's old South Beach hideouts on 20/20. That'd prolly make a mint with the right hype.

Shameless.

Lebron gave the Cavs 7 years to put a supporting cast around him. They couldn't get it done. LeBron has everything he could ever want, except a NBA title. The man wants to be at the top of this profession. How can you fault him for going where he has the opportunity to do that? Cleveland is a football town...they were never going to be in a position to draw the kind of supporting talent LeBron needed to win a title.

And to all the people hating on LeBron for being selfish, or narcissistic, just take a look at what his family foundation has accomplished and how many different causes they've funded.

Somebody explain the income tax angle to me. I have understood (maybe misunderstood) that each player had to pay income taxes for the number of games that they played in a state that had an income tax (CA, for instance). Doesn't that mean that for 41 games, less those in TX, LeBron is still going to have to pay income taxes in a lot of states?

Cleveland owes him because the basketball would not mention them were it not for him. They would be the team that some other team beat night after night.

Go Bron-Bron!

It was sad to see so many people butt hurt over this. Now it is just amusing.

James in essence gave Cleveland a middle finger salute by staging his lovefest for himself. The fans in northern Ohio didn't deserve that treatment...I never cared for South Beach's team anyway, but now, I'm pretty sure I'll pull for anyone who plays the Heat. This is one lab experiment that I hope fails miserably.
