i.e. the same style of hairdo or whatever

I was looking at some old pictures of my dad the other day and noticed that he's probably had the same haircut for like 60 years.

I ve had the same do more or less for like 8 years...i think its time for a change or something

Dude. This is my thread.

I have, like, the same essential base for a haircut since the days I went to my Visible Changes at Memorial City Mall in the 80's. I sport the 80's version of the crew cut, the box cut -- number three clippers on the side all the way up and a flip part in the front, gelled up (I'm a Dapper Dan man, now) like a backup singer for Ace Of Base.

Yeah. Unashamed, I walk amongst you....

About 30 years and the same person has been cutting it all that time, except for one time when she was having a baby.

I used to just get a "normal" cut all the time. Tapered on the edges and about 1/2 inch on top. Then I'd let it grow out for 3-5 months and get another cut.

Now since I've started thinning out, I just take clippers to my head and cut it all one length. About 1/4 inch. I rarely go the the barber now. I still let it grow out for months at a time. I know to get a haircut when it starts touching my ears. Even then, I'm lazy and don't get around to it.

In HS i had a buzz cut. But senior year i grew it out and started parting it a certain way. Been doing that ever since. So about 7 years. And might i say it looks damn good

How many people cut their own hair? I notice a few people on this thread have already mentioned it. I have not had my hair professionally cut in over a 1 1/2 years. Before that, I was going irregularly. I cannot think of a rational reason why (other than expense), but I hated getting my hair cut.

dude about 15 years ago I saw this awesome commercial about a product that like attached to my vaccum cleaner AND cut hair all at the same time- freaking COOL if you ask me, so, I signed up and bought the 19.95 flowbie and have been sporting the cool haircut ever since.........

9 years.

I had a traditional side part for over 15 years before that. When my side part was reduced to a length of a tad over an inch I decided it was time to go w/ the buzzed head. I use my own clippers every other day...no guard. Interestingly enough, the change allowed me to persue and successfully date younger/hotter women.

If they came out w/ a full proof "cure" for baldness tomorrow, I don' think I'd grow it back...I look better w/ the ultra short clipped look and I can't imagine having to deal w/ hair again.

About 8 or 9 years. #3 or 4 on the side, blend it in to about an inch or two on top. Block in the back.

Before that I was all over the place. Growing up in the late 70's early 80's I had the standard side part, bushy head. In junior high (1986/87) went with the crowd and started parting it right down the middle and combing it back on the sides like the wings on a Philly Eagles helmet.

By 1989 I had a crewcut flattop, courtesy of Pete's Flat Top Shop on Burnet Rd. Once that grew out it went straight into a really wicked mullet. Kept the mullet for about two years ('90 and '91) By high school graduation I think it was pack to a standard short 'do with a side part.

In 1993 the barber at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot gave me a high and tight, which I kept for the next 4 years. Getting a haircut once a week for 4 years makes you tend to want to grow it our for a while. So as soon as I got out in 1997 I didn't get a haircut for about 2 years. It got down just past my shoulders, all one length. That was about 1998 or so.

Once it was time to get a real job I went to my current 'do.

I can't believe I'm the only one here fessing up to my mullet. If you are 34-39 years old I know you had one! We all did.

OK, i am 39.. and I had a mullet, but it was a cool BONO mullet, not a Bosworh/Cyrus mullet.

These days, i trend toward whatever Brad Pitt is doing

Started having my buzz cut (although not that incredibly short) when I was at UT, probably in 1989 or so. Always paid to have it done (#3) until recently, when I bought some clippers and started doing it myself. I still go and have it done "professionally" every 4-5 months or so to have it done right.

I cut my own hair whenever I feel like it. During the summer I use a three guard every 3 weeks or so. Then in September I stop cutting the top, and stop shaving. I turn into a yetti until spring takes root here in chicago. In early May, I shave the beard and go back to the three guard. It's a comfortable routine.

Going on 13 years now...

Once upon a time while in college,I had it shaved on the sides and back, with long, black, curly locks on top. Sometimes, I kept them pulled back (not gangsta style) with gel or in a small ponytail...then one day the evil male pattern baldness gene came and I was forced to start shaving it...today, I use clippers, no guard, once or twice a week. If I let it grow any, it looks grey...kind of like Piccard...now if I just had the cool ship and accent...

My wife also makes me keep a now rapidly graying goatee "for balance"...What???

well, when i started going bald there wasn't much choice left. so now i've had it shaved for about 5 years. whenever this hairstyle goes out i am so screwed.

Did the spikes in high school, did the clooney ceasar for 3 years, and have been sporting the front flip forabout 6 months now.

I get my hair cut sorta short, then let it grow long, then cut it short, then let it grow long again. I get 2-3 haircuts a year.
