How good is Manny Ramirez?

without knowing many specifics, i will say that there is more to playing baseball than hitting. perhaps these other areas are where he was lacking in people's eyes.

All of his "supporters" point to the batting average, but in that final month before he was dealt, it was over.

The demands to "find out what was going to happen" despite the fact that all he had to do was play to pick up his $20 million dollar option set it off. What kind of dumbass in his late 30s demands to know if they're going to give him a guaranteed $20 million for the next season, when it was already set in stone that they would? Then Scott Boras got in his ear and figured out a way he could get more out of it.

It's not the first time a pro athlete faked an injury, but the manner in which he did it kind of mocks the art of injury faking. First it's his knee, then the double MRI, then he doesn't know which knee.

Against Anaheim when he let an easy fly ball drop, and then fall on top of it, roll on top of the ball, and flail wildly for it, it was beyond obvious what he was trying to do. Walking out a double play ball also tells the story pretty well.

Yeah, he's a great hitter. Probably a HOF'er too. But he's an ******* for what he did, especially for setting a future precedent for behavior like it.

he was giving little to no effort in some cases. he wasnt running the bases as well compared to boston. he really seemed laid back in boston and he didnt give as much effort as he should. he is acting more like a team player in LA

manny is a douche but name me a better right handed hitter in the last 40 years. pujols is up there and he may be better when it is all said and done but manny is outfreakingstanding swinging the bat.

He's a damn good player, but what a whiner. Hope he enjoys it in LA and doesn't pull any more stunts.

I can't wait to see him get near the LF bleachers back in Philly. He's gonna get soaked with beer. And the boo's will be deafening.

Seeing Manny in left field in Philly would be worth the price of admission. Chances are he doesn't do his tough guy act while in the city of brotherly love.

Philly "fans" don't deserve the World Series. I hope they get their butts handed to them so they can fade away for over a decade yet again.

unpredictable/**** attitude but he's probably the best righthanded hitter last 50 yrs. So yeah, he's a "heck of a player". Weirdo is sick with the stick.
