How do you clean a wedding band/engagement ring?

THere are little jars of jewelry cleaner, you just dunk it in there. I don't remember where we bought it though.
Or you could just use WD-40.

I take mine to the jeweler that I bought it at to clean it up and remove any scratches.... I think I'm going to do that this week if I end up getting a replacement silver wedding band from James Avery this week. And then put my real wedding band in my safe.

Get one of these little Blitz "sonic" cleaner machines - they knock all the dirt out of your rings, earrings, chains & pendants:

i have a tungsten wedding band. never gets scratched. i can drag it on concrete and it looks perfect. guys should get low-maintenance wedding bands. all my friends with platinum ones regret them because they get scratched to hell.

James Avery cleans their rings for life. Anytime you are near one you can go in and get it polished. My wedding ring is a $35 from there. Its just fine.

I bought a jar of gold cleaner from Target. Ash at the jewelry counter. You just dunk it in the cleaner and then use the little brush in there to clean off the goo.

You are getting married a YEAR from now and you are already worrying about cleaning a wedding band? SO early to be whipped so hard.

I haven't cleaned my wedding band in 13 years. I hadn't even considered it.

I’ve cleaned my rings (diamonds and precious jewels) with ammonia and a soft bristle toothbrush. Dry with a lint free cloth. My rings have always come out sparkling.

MidTown - Picked out my ring the other weekend, so that's why the thought crossed my mind. After I pick up my ring this weekend, it's going in the dresser drawer and will be forgotten about until next April.

Thx for the input everyone on cleaning.

no man should ever clean it.

i have a platinum that gets all scratched up. i like it that way because the ring should reflect the beating of married life.

I have a $60 plain white gold ring that came from some jewelry supply catalog. It's kind of dull and a little scratched up, but I like it that way because I'm a man.

I second the tungston recommendation, mine is awesome and I dont have to worry about it getting messed up. The only downside is it cannot be resized so if your weight fluxuates a lot that might be an issue. The people I bought it from offer one free resizing for life (which is just a replacement at a different size).

I clean my diamond engagement ring with Parson's household cleaner- I think it's basically a mix of dish soap and ammonia, so you could just make that mixture yourself. Dip it in, scrub it with a soft toothbrush, rinse. Soooo shiny.
