How do our ticket prices compare to other schools?

My mother is going to Tennessee's homecoming game this year..the ticket is $40. When she first told me I told her she had to be wrong, that maybe she'd gotten a parking pass or something, but no, that's the price. She says this year's tickets range from $40-$75. It can't be all due to cost of living can it? (yes I realize it's Knoxville)

They can recoup the money in donations. I think there's a few top-25 schools that only charge $40-50 for basic seats.

I like my $27 50-yl seats at SMU games, no donation.

aggy tickets

Arkansas State (August 30, 2008) $45/$50
Miami (September 20, 2008) $70/$75
Army (September 27, 2008) $60/$65
Kansas State (October 11, 2008) $70/$75
Texas Tech (October 18, 2008) $80/$85
Colorado (November 1, 2008) $70/$75
Oklahoma (November 8, 2008) $80/$85

So Tenn has the same ticket prices as aggy? That'll be a fun fact I can tease her about!

aggy tickets are a little higher than the other UT

September 13 UAB $45.00/ $50.00
September 20 Florida $50.00/ $70.00
October 4 Northern Illinois $40.00
October 18 Mississippi State $45.00/ $50.00
October 25 Alabama $50.00/ $70.00
November 8 Wyoming $40.00
November 29 Kentucky $45.00/ $50.00

I'm pretty sure Texas has the most expensive tickets in the NCAA.
Mich and Penn St. are both $50 or under for every game.

Oh and A&M student tickets are free I believe. Tenn until this year had free student tickets.

Texas Season Tix $385 not counting madatory LHF donation.

Aggie season tix in the Zone are $250.

I believe that Tenn is over a 100K in seats. My buddy just got 4 tickets, no donation, about the 45 yard line, three rows from the press box at Tenn. I think the lower bowl is a little more expensive. I can't sit that far away, prefer to watch it on TV.

Current season ticket holders who are not Foundation members get their seats for the price of the tickets. It seems unfair that new Foundation members are not guaranteed seats but that is the current rule. Since it is all about money, I'm surprised the new Foundation members don't take over the seating held by non members.

UGH..well my mother's explanation for the lower ticket prices is "in the deep south, it's not about the money, it's about the GAME".

I got SEC SEC SEC'd by my own mom. Luckily I'm a daddy's girl
