How do LASP/Student Tickets work for OU?

I'm a student at UT and I want to get my friends from California a couple of tickets. I can have my roommate and his GF buy me LASP tickets (they're not going to OU, but they're getting season tickets).

I've heard that you just have to use your ID to pick up the tickets at the stadium office in Austin and that they're regular tickets that anybody can use. Is this true?

I've never been to a RRSO so I have no idea...
 
I do know you pretty much have to have season tickets to get them as a student. There's technically a dumb-and-dumber chance to get them with just the normal LASP, but that's it.
 
They're not big football fans anyway, so they don't want to go to Dallas...they'll probably only show up to half the home games too. I'm glad I found a girl that loves college football to go to the games with.

That's good about the OU tickets being easily transferable, that'll be 2 more college football fans I can hang with.
