How do I lose the love handles?

I'm in the process of trying to lose weight and my love handles always seem to be the most stubborn part of my body about giving up fat. Any exercise suggestions for getting rid of these?
 
Unfortunately, the love handles for men is the FILO area. It's the first place your body stores fat and its the last place that it will be burned off. Ive had them all my life and I found that the only way to reduce them is to first get in the best shape you can be i.e. get your metabolism at its highest rate and then crunches targeting your sides. And even then it will be a long time coming.
 
No exercise, even crunches gets rid of fat. Now, the act of anaeoriibic exercise can help and even more when combined with aerobic. But there is no one exercise that does this. The main things, exercise, proper diet and drink water. Cut out sodas and the other usual suspects.

It is true what is said above that this is an area that is among the last to vanish and the hardest to get rid of. Amp up your cardio, fuel your body w/ good food. You may want to go visit a Nutritionist (one that does sports stuff is a good call) and have them analyze your diet. Be honest with them. If you ate or eat crap, tell them and how much. They don't judge.

They can put you on a plan, give pointers, recipes, websites and stuff that can really make you turn that corner. Stretch. Stretch more than you probably do. Get ample sleep.

I was pretty damned slender growing up, but I still had love handles at least as far back as my mid-teens. Maybe even before then. And from looking at my legs and my arms you would have thought that I ate one meal a day.

Liposuction will take care of that fat. You will look all bruised for a while after the surgery, but it will get rid of that **** for the short term.
 
I was introduced to the Thera Band ball after a minor accident. I am completely healed, but received the ball as a result. This is an "isolation machine" regarding abdominal muscles. I also use it when I lift my hand held dumbbells and continually requires abdominal presure. I have been routinely working out for over a month and my wife mentioned last week that my love handles have become smaller. The exercises are relatively simple, but go far in the results department.

I like the one machine they have at greg where you sit on it, adjust the weights and turn your hips almost 180 degrees..anyone know what i am talking about? They had 2 of those..I havent seen that machine in any other gym. My love handles were in control back when was in UT but ever since i left...having a tough time. The side crunches just dont seem to stress it as much.
