How did Texas get to be the Home team tonight?

"If both team enter the championship series either undefeated or with one loss, then the home team for game one would be determined by a coin toss prior to the game. The other team not designated as the home team in the first game would be the home team in the second game. The home team for the third game, if necessary, would be determined by another coin toss prior to the game.If both team enter the championship series either undefeated or with one loss, then the home team for game one would be determined by a coin toss prior to the game. Thanks for the info fellas. According to the rules, the coin flip had to have been done following our game last night.

Hadn't heard about it but am pumped that we won it!

I don't see where the rules say it had to be done after last night's game. It only says that it had to be done before tonight's game. Last Friday was before tonight's game.

Ok, so Texas knew before the series that they would be home team for Game 1 and Game 3 (if necessary). Guess I just assumed there would not be a coin flip for game 3 before they knew it was necessary.

Sorry for the confusion.

I thought the home team was determined by the higher seed? With LSU getting to be home team for game two, but Texas being home for games one and three due to being the #1 overall seed.

Seeding doesn't matter at all, aside from who is home for game 1 and who is home for game 2. The third game is a coin flip. They did it last Friday night after the ASU game. LSU's coach had to participate by phone because he left the ballpark after the top of the 9th, thinking ASU would win and we'd have to play another game the next day. Greatness.

Texas won a coin toss for tonight's game. It was done prior to the firest game with LSU. Texas was a higher seed that made them home team for game 1 and LSU was home for game 2.

We used our special coin with Bibb Faulk on one side and Cliff Gustafson on the other, supplied by our juiced bat company owned by Red McCombs. As the coin was tossed, we called out "We're Texas," and won home field advantage.
