I sat by a Texas flag snapping in a stiff Galveston breeze and chased a dozen oysters on the half shell with cold Shiner Bock.

Went to a gun range just this side of Lockhart and enjoyed a variety of interesting weapons, followed by a trek into the little town to enjoy too much of the renowned BBQ they make down there.

I loaded up the garbage cans with 10% for the horses & put out a fresh round bale as I listened to the windmill churning @ about 3,000 RPM...

Ransacked the chicken coop for fresh egg bounty, root pulled about 20 Cedars that were 2' or shorter...

Downed a Lonestar or three while I smoked 3 birds for Tex's birthday party later that day & with time to spare, cleaned my Marlin lever action .30-.30.

I love Texas. Texas returns the favor.
