My dad has his game cam by his stand and feeder. He has been getting lots of deer activity-- about 300 hits in a 2 week time period. This is only the second hog pic so far. We have had lots pass thru in the past, but the rice farmers received damage and hired hunters/TWPD helped out as well. The buck is a nice young one, but I added it since he is standing in about the same spot for comparison. That hog is huge-- 350-400 is my guess.

A boar " cornered me" 3 yrs ago in my pick-up-- I had just loaded up a sow i had shot and heard a noise--and a huge boar was 10 yards behind me making all kinds of noise-- guess I shot his gal. I jumped into the bed of my pick-up. He circled my truck a few times and got within 5-10 feet of me. I had my gun pointed at his head the whole time. I had one bullet and didn't feel like messing with 2 hogs. Eventually whe walked off. He had to go 300 and this one looks taller and wider.

I would say you might get over 200, but not much more. Think of a 300 lb. DT and how big THEY are and that hog sure as **** couldn't play for a third rate program like aggy. That, and her forearms aren't very big at all.

I was pissed that he made me wait on shooting 3 little ones ( about 40 lbs) just the right size for the pit

Have your dad move his camera away from the close branch and he'll get better pictures. The reflection of the flash off the leaves is messing up the exposure of the intended subject. Now then... Can't really tell how big the hog is, but he's a big 'un.

he has resolution set low--but he swaps out 2 gig card every 3-4 days---shouldn't make a difference--I have a mice pic of a good buck and can't tell if its a 15 or 17 inside, also have a pic of 2 bucks about to fight.

good point on the leaf--thanks

There is no limit or hunting season on these introduced species in the Texas environment. They cause tremendous habitat destruction for native species, from birds to deer.
Shoot all of them you can, it needs to be done. They shouldn't be in the wild, they are vermin overrunning natural ecosystems.
I see their destruction almost every time I go birdwatching, and often see them in the field.

I'm guessing that by the time you see the pictures and get out there, the game is gone. So, what good is the camera for hunting?

Lol Stina, you are right, but what the hunters are trying to do is establish habits. If that pig comes every other day, say around dusk, the hunter knows that is a good time to be in his stand.

Out of curiosity, what region of the state are you in? I agree, all hogs need to be sent to hog hell.
