How big does a garage have to be?

I am considering taking in some of a garage in a rental house, and it would leave the garage only 16 feet long from wall to garage door. Is that acceptable? I know a suburban won't go in there, but that's true of even a lot of new construction. Thanks!

A garage should be at least 20' deep & 10' wide (single car}

My two car garage (18' wide X 20' deep} is too small.

My brother has a 1,000 sq ft garage that is adequate for his four vehicles & John Deere lawn tractor.

My garage is 18' deep, my z-71 won't fit buy 4" . 20' would be plenty.

Yes, my garage is 60' x 20', with a 16' ceiling. It would hold 6 cars if I really wanted it to. The folks who built it had two bigassed RVs (why they needed 2 is beyond me).

Well, the reason would be to enclose space for the washer and dryer, which are right now in the garage. I am weighing the hate for a W/D in the garage against the hate for a little garage.

You might as well not have a garage for 16 feet. My corolla which is about as small as most cars get is 14.9' long. A camry is 15.8' long.

is it causing ppl to not rent the place?

if that's not the issue and they just don't like it being in the garage, tell them to go buy a house. or use the laundry mat. i figure both aren't as easy as walking in the garage to throw some cloths in the washer or move them to the dryer.
