Houston Traffic Info

I am driving to Houston on Friday morning from Austin. I am going to the area around the Galleria off of 610 coming in on I-10. Is it better to just stay on I-10 and take 610 south or drop down and take Westpark Tollway and do 610 north? I am leaving Austin around 6:00,any thoughts...suggestions?

Staying the night in The Woodlands any good spots for dinner,drinks etc?

Been here since 1975. I love Houston. Better to just stay on I-10 and take 610 south for about 1.5 miles.

The Westpark tollway sucks balls during the morning rush.

I-10 directly to 610 is the better way to go, but I-10 can get pretty backed up between 8-9 a.m. also. If at all possible, try to be here before 8 a.m.

And get a TEXtag so you can take the tollway if needed.

All roads in Houston suck balls from about 6am to 10am and then again from 3pm to 8pm.

The rest of the time it's not too bad because they are one of the few cities who understand "slower to the right, average in the middle, faster to the left"

I-10 is not part of my morning commute so I have no idea if the traffic has improved since the expansion, however, you can use the Katy Managed Lanes if you have an EZ TAG or TxTag
