Houston Sports Bar

After the Big 12 Title game a couple of years ago in Houston, we went to the Fox Sports sports bar/restaurant in Houston. Impressive. Tons of tvs. Nice place although the food was just ok.

There's a Champp's in the Uptown Park shopping center. 610 and Post Oak (near the Galleria.) Not a full blown sports bar but a pretty good place to watch games.

Texadelphia on Westheimer is a horns hang out, although any Texadelphia will do. Big Woodrow's on Chimney Rock is my favorite, personally, if the weather is nice. Pub Fiction has good food and tons of TVs. The Wet Spot on W. Gray.

I don't like Champps, and I don't really like Fox Sports (expensive and the food is not good).

I go to the Wet Spot every wednesday for dollar beers and quarter wings. A lot of aggys frequent pub fiction. My favorite sports bar is coaches in midtown. It has a lot of 42ish flat screens, one 90ish behind the bar and a projection inthe middle. I've been there quite a few saturdays this year to watch college football and then UFC. Food is better than any other sports bar I've been to.

I like the wet spot -- I especially like having my own TV that I control when sitting at the bar. Christian's tailgate isn't bad in midtown -- a little too aggy for football Saturdays, though. Bubba's on Washington is pretty good -- good burgers, good TVs...again not good on football Saturdays, though -- huge UTn hangout.

I wouldn't waste your time with Fox Sports...TV set up is nice, but food sucks, it's too expensive, and service is spotty.

My Texadelphia is the one on Memorial. I like Pub Fiction because for big games, they'll play the sound, but switch to music during the commercials. Christian's Tailgate has a mean burger and onion rings.

Whenever I am in different towns and in need of a sports bar/place to watch a game, I usually try and visit a Texas Exes Game Watch spot. Normally they are great sportsbars in their respective towns, and some are decked in plenty of Longhorn stuff. Always a nice touch. Not all places are going to be applicable, but if people need suggestions on watch places for any given game ... perhaps the link below might provide some help. TheFied nailed it with his suggestion ...
