Houston Hotel

I need to find a good hotel to stay at for the Texans vs. Titans game in a couple of weeks. I'd like a hotel close to some good night life and if possible not too too far from Reliant.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The Hotel Derek is near the Galleria. Threre's a lot of night life in that area, but the best clubs are within a $20 cab ride. PM me and I can probably hook you up with a $100/night stay.

You can get a room on the weekends downtown really cheap via Priceline and the like. Riding the train to the game is a piece of cake.

The wife and I got a room in the downtown Hilton for $75 a night a while back. You won't need to pay for cabs at all if you stay there.

I would stay at the Hotel ZaZa in the Museum District... cool hotel with a funky vibe and there's a light rail stop a block away. You can take that into downtown or to the game.

yeah, zaza or any of the downtown hotels on or near main st. (magnolia, icon, lancaster, etc.) and ride the light rail in.

I second the Priceline idea. I stayed at the Intercontinental on the West Loop for $69. I'd also recommend staying downtown and taking the train.

Another vote for Hotel Zaza. Best hotel in Houston IMO. Rooms are great. Hip but not garish and cheap like W hotels or the Derek. Love the 42 inch HD plasma. The pool scene is great. Wish the pool itself was larger but the food, drinks, and scenery are great. Try to get a cabana if you can. Couches and comfy chairs with an HD plasma panel. Catching Saturday's college fb action while relaxing by the pool is awesome. Also, their spa is great and they have couples treatments that are very good.

Finally, Monarch is a great restaurant and their bar has a very nice scene. My favorite place in Houston.

ZaZa ain't cheap.

for cost sensitive downtown, I like the hotel by the convention center. It has good restaurants and you can get anywhere for a $10 cab ride.

Hotel Icon is also worth checking out, they have a great bar in their lobby and a good restaurant.

I will be @ ZaZa Thursday night with the wife for "date night". She's got us going to see Ryan Adams and staying at The ZaZa while the inlaws watch the ninas. Been there several times for dinner and drinks, but never stayed there...probably because I live 10 minutes away.

$190 sounds like a good price

i can get rooms at the hilton americas including tax, parking and breakfast under $100, so its hard for me to turn that down.

My stay Thursday night was outstanding. Bed was comfortable as ****. Great room. We had one with a balcony looing West over rice. Had a morning jog around the Rice trail, then sat out poolside to catch a few rays. Had some lunch from the spa cafe served out by the pool.

Well, I just got back from Houston after staying at Hotel ZaZa. One word, awesome.

We had such a great time and the hotel was perfect. We def. have a new place to stay on our trips to Houston so thanks for the great suggestion!
