Houston hires Kendal Briles as offensive coordinator

Major just lost whatever respect I had left for him by hiring from that POS Briles family. But hey, there are football games to be won, never mind all that sexual assault business.

Not surprised. Didn't Applewhite have his own issues here several years back?
As I remember, and I could be remembering wrong, Major's indiscretion was infidelity. While wrong, it is a far cry (at least to me) from systematic cover up of multiple sexual assault cases.

I agree, didn't mean to imply I think he condones that, but it is just a terrible hire.
I didn't get that implication from your post at all.
While I don't think UH is condoning BU/Briles behavior, being willing to overlook it, which apparently they are, certainly minimizes it.

Agreed. I guess what I meant by not being surprised is that since he left here as a player, maybe it was Saban's influence, MA just seems like a win at all cost, not so wholesome guy. But hey, that's just my opinion! I could be completely wrong and maybe he somehow had no idea what went on at Baylor. Uuuhhhhhhhh.......

Man! I can’t believe UH in bringing that guy into their program. It’s just my position, but KB, his dad and the assistant coaches from BU have that dirt and stain all over them and should not be allowed to coach anywhere again.

Anyone think Major would ever have a chance of coaching at Texas again, in any capacity, with this hire hanging over him now? Not that I want him here, just curious what others think.

At this point probably not since the law suit against The University by that other coach for having sex with a student athlete IIRC, is still ongoing, although the two may be distinguished based on the facts as known, it is still an issue the school and AD most likely do not want, due to it bringing negative publicity. Besides, Tom hired a guy from Baylor, (Horny?) and Tom had to defend against the negative publicity. After Major hired the Briles kid, we definitely would not want a Briles on campus, and an HC or OC who might hire another coach like a Briles. That’s my take on it

He was OC for his last two years there.
Major also hired another Baylor assistant Randy Clements.
He will be Oline coach at UH.
Same thing he did at Baylor.
I know that he coached at rapelor. But what did he do that makes people hate him, besides being Briles' son?
