Houston 'College Classic' Dates/Times Set ...

Ugh, what ****** placement for our games. I remember in 2008 we played all three of our games at night ...

Friday: Texas v Rice, 7 pm
Saturday: Texas v Houston, 3:30 pm
Sunday: Texas v Mizzou, 11 am

Friday night game is OK, that one will more than likely start around 8 pm since there are two games before it. Saturday SUCKS because Texas basketball plays @ Baylor at 3 pm. Sunday is too damn early assuming people who make the trip will likely go out Saturday night.

Oh well, I'll make it work.

Buy at the door. Place won't come close to selling out, every seat is GA and up for grabs. At least they were in 2008.

I like the 11 a.m. Sunday. For those of us who have to drive back home Sunday, it gives us a chance to see some of the game. I hate when the Sunday game is at night because I can't stay for it.

I'm still trying to decide if I will go to Houston for this.

Why is Texas not playing Rice Saturday nigh as they always have in the past. Is Rice ducking us?

I actually like that schedule.

Can make the Friday game after work, go to the Saturday game with plenty of time to destroy Houston afterwards and then get back to Austin at a decent time on Sunday.

This will actually be my first classic, I heard last year was epic.

It is epic. Great to get to enjoy 3 games in an MLB park ... no assigned seats, beer served, what more could you ask for?

Bring your woolies. That place is colder'n hell if the weather is winter-like since there's no heating. Ski caps, long underwear, gloves, and heavy coats are in order if Houston is cool that weekend.

Oh, yeah, in 2004 I got a chuckle out of Augie before Game 1 when I called to him to "throw another log on the air conditioner!"

It's cold in the extreme in that place.

The 3:30 start on Saturday will be nice. Last Classic we didn't start our Saturday game till around 8 or 9 at night. That was awfully rough when you start doing "top of the hour" with Robert at 10 am.

BTW, I liked the location in parking lot next to the B.U.S. sports bar.

Later uniform start date reduces odds of experiencing hypothermia inside MM but woe unto those who don't pack for a duck hunt just the same. Heed the war stories from years past!
