Houston Chronicle cutbacks...

The Chronicle is going downhill fast. Has anyone noticed they've been combining the city/state and the business section lately? It also seem like the paper has been missing portions of the classifieds. To top it off, you have Lisa Falkenberg. She's a perfect example while the chronicle is near worthless.

Does anyone think that Houston might not have a daily paper in the near future?

i think they'll have a daily paper for a while, but it probably will continue to shrink (ie, continuing to shrink the local and biz sections).

the lack of classifieds is part of the problem. people just aren't buying classified ads the way they used to, due to places like CraigsList and the sort.

newspapers are in a bad way.

As long as they continue to just reprint the fluff pieces written by the various public relations departments from hospitals in the Texas Medical Center, they'll be fine.
