Hotwire

We've got a trip coming up this summer and I've got everything reserved except for the rental car. I've checked every site for car rentals and they are all the same except for Hotwire, which is about $140 cheaper for the week.

I've never used Hotwire. Anybody used them before? What was your experience? Anything I need to know? etc.....

I use hotwire all the time for hotels and I have never had a bad experience. I have rented a few cars through them and everything was good. The main thing you have to be ready for is once it's booked it's booked.

I have used Hotwire many times for hotels and cars and have had great success and saved many, many monies. But as the other poster mentioned, once it is bought, it is bought. So make sure you are definitely going on the trip before you pull the trigger.

Bookit.com is a less popular one, but it tends to have good deals, and they let you cancel.

I haven't used them in a few years -- forgot about them -- but never used to have a problem.

Priceline > Hotwire -- no cancel though....and you'll have to wait in the line...no #1 Club Gold or anything.
