hotels near downtown

what are some of the more affordable downtown area (if there are any). I have a hearing at 8:00 am on thursday by the capital,a nd would like to avoid too much traffic delay.

actually just booked at the Austin Motel, on Congress. Always wanted to check that place out. Breakfast at El Sol y La Luna will be allsome.

Austin Motel should be cool. Never stayed there, but looks cool. We like the Hotel San Jose, but they've upped the price of that a good bit. I've found some good rates at the Stephen F. Austin, which is a nice place.

Austin Motel starts at around $55/night, so I figure it'd be nice to save some cash. I'm only there for one night.
