First off, it's "Texas-OU"...

Second, as I recall the usual ritual is "find someone I know in Dallas, sleep on their couch, go to game the next day."

My usual ritual is to get up at 3:30. Then, eat, ****, and put burnt orange on, make the drive from Houston to Dallas, park, walk to secret bathroom location (no I'm not telling), give my dad time to ****, walk around until the stadium opens, then game time.

That routine is why I prefer 11:00 games. You have to show up at pretty much the same time to park as you do for 2:30 games, but there is much less dicking around time, and you get home much earlier. Not to mention, you can drive faster on your way home because there is daylight.

Not that any of that helps you find a hotel.

Sheridan at the Market Center ... used to be the place ... My Brother moved to Euless, so I haven't used it in a while.

I think he meant the Sheraton at Market Center on I-35 close to downtown - which would not be a bad choice - approx.15 -20 minutes from Fair Park on a normal day. If you want to go 1st class: The Gaylord Texan in Grapevine is awesome but it is MILES from the the CB. The Adolphus downtown is 5 star - minutes from Fair Park but $$$. If you are looking to be a little more economical, try one of the various Marriott properties around the downtown Dallas area. Do not stay at the Double Tree Lincoln Center (Galleria area) - it used to be ground zero for ou fans.

Good luck!

check out both vrbo and airbnb websites. they rent out condos, apartments and houses all over the world at a really good rate. you could possibly rent out an apartment in a high rise in Dallas or somewhere on the DART line. Bring your own food and libation, some friends and then just hop on a train.

For 166 a night there is this 2br 2.5 bath near tons of stuff. Bus line right there, close to DART. You could get two couples there easy and the cost is peanuts. Kitchen, stove, washer/dryer.

The Adolphus has a beautiful lobby, and other common areas, but the room itself was so plain, boring, and old. If you're actually trying to get some sleep before the game this is not the place. Unless you're really high up you can clearly hear all the street noise and sirens.

Also, the Adolphus was our absolute favorite for many years but there has been "ou-creep" that
has infested it to the point that a major extermination job should be undertaken.

The "W" by American Airlines Center is good as well as the Stoneleigh, Hotel ZaZa and the Cresent all of which are in Uptown (or the vicinity). You also have Hotel Palomar at Mockingbird, the Omni downtown and a couple of off the beaten path motels where you may be able to get some lovin' on the side....

I would not choose the Dallas Marriott City Center. It has been 10 years since I stayed there, but it was almost completely ou fans for the game. I drove up to check in to a sea of sooner fans and we lost 65-13. It was one bad weekend for me.
