What about the #2 team with the national player of the year sitting on the bench for all but 10 minutes of the game. I'll take the win, but that was not an *** whipping.
More like Willie Warren's vindication party...how the **** did we whiff so much on him in favor of J'Covan? Guy is absolutely sick in all phases of the game. Even more than that, his primacy is off the charts and he thrives under pressure...
This seems as good a thread as any to mention that the velocity at which a defender bounces off a stationary screener he doesn't see has nothing to do with the illegality of the screen.
OU would not be have come into the game 25-1 with just one good player, as was evidenced tonight. With KD, we did not go 25-1 after 26 games.
Further, Barnes practiced to play against Griffin -- not with him out of the game. That can sometimes be like the old wrestling move... "inside step-over toe-hold."
The best part of the Horns winning was the fact you simply cannot lose (a) on your home court badly needing a win, with (b) the potential player of the year with 2 point sitting out the game. You just cannot lose that game.
Lose at Norman maybe.
Lose with Griffin in the game, maybe.
But not at home and him knocked out of the game.
I think Warren made up for Griffin being out. He would have had a good game but not that good with Griffin being in there. He did as all great players do, he stepped up when needed.
noticed on one of the highlights replayed from saturday's game that warren did the 'throat slash' after hitting a 3. Now is that considered taunting and worthy of a technical foul? I didn't see the entire game and don't know if that was called...seems worse than diving into an end zone.
