Horns vs bay

Team is 11-5 with two very tough games remaining. Tcu at their place is a toss up. Ku will be a slight favorite at our place.
We could easily end the season with 3 losses.

On the other hand, If the horns win the last two then this loss will mean very little.

It’s like we’re watching completely different games.

The game I watched featured a Texas team that went absolutely ice cold, missing good shot after good shot for over 20 minutes, while the other team hit shots from everywhere. Nonetheless, we still managed to hang within 10 on the road against a top-10 team. We did this mostly by playing aggressive D, forcing 21 turnovers while committing only 14.

Other than the bad shooting (which may very well kill us in the postseason), the main thing I’m concerned about from this game is getting out-rebounded 38-26. But even that is partly explained by the fact that we shot so poorly. In the more important category of offensive rebounds, we were only behind 9-7.
Yes. We did go cold. But we also didn’t get much in the paint. Our bigs let us down on offense.

Even so, we were NOT good defensively. We will lose every game where we allow 52 points in the second half.

No I base this on how this team has played since he took over. Stagnant offense. Lose to a beyond sorry Texas Tech team. Lucky to beat a sorry OU team. He is just not head coach material. Some are just better as an assistant coach and that is him. None of our young players have shown any improvement. I mean Mitchell is though of as a lottery pick when the season began and he is just not shown any improvement in play at all.
You must be kidding. And you must not have watched the same games I did.

To be fair, I am not a fan of terry either but he is what we have now. To the one who said nothing behind Carr and Rice, Morris was a top 50 recruit and is electrifying when he gets a chance. I think he will be fantastic next year when its his turn. CDC will take time at year end to review and interview candidates. This doesnt appear to be terrys job by default. CDC has been excellent in his hires. No one could have forseen the issues that beard brought on himself. When the dust settles, we are still Texas and thats the enough!!

It’s probably going to come down to both tournaments that determines if Terry is hired permanently. Get us to the final four…. he’s hired. Bounced early in both tournaments….likely out. A lot of possible scenarios in between, so we’ll see how it all plays out. For now, I’m just hoping we don’t end the regular season going 1-4 out of our last five. Big games coming up.

What about Morris?

What about him? His 1.1 win shares ranks like 30th in the conference among guards. Basketball isn't the kind of sport where you wait around for players to get better with coaching. Having Rice come off the bench kind of hurts Arterio's progress to contribute, but he shouldn't be playing as poorly as he is.

Like Mitchell, he hasn't picked up meaningful minutes in a while. I have no doubt that he'll be pressed into service (assuming he stays) in 2023-24, so he better bring it.

Yeah, we need to make it to the Sweet 16--something we haven't done for a very long time.

OK, it was not clear to me that you included Morris in your **** group..

but we literally have **** beyond Hunter at that position,

Tceh @ KU Tues. Eve. hoping for some help from the raiders.

tceh battled hawks and hung tough to the end 63-60 KU with under 1 min.

Ttu is playing well now. Came close to the upset at ku tonight.

Tcu beat ttu in Lubbock a few days ago. Tcu will be very tough tomorrow.
Horns will need to be prepared from the jump and play up to their potential to get out of fw with a win. They are top to bottom better than tcu but Horns have been been inconsistent.
Horns need to play intense D for 40 minutes. Horns should win the game. But shoulda and coulda are not good enough. Horns have to execute. I’m wouldn’t bet against the Horns, but we all know it’s going to be a nail biter.

I'm not super optimistic about either TCU or KU to finish out, so I think this road game will be a litmus test for the guards. We've had enough "tests" to see what happens when Carr, Hunter, and Rice aren't in sync. But we've also had games like the ISU or Gonzaga one where we can see the potential. Which crew will show up?

Well said 11. In addition to the guards showing up, I’d like to see Allen back into a groove with the mid range jumper. And a tough inside game from Bishop and Disu would cement a winning effort.
