Horns, toughest Top 10 schedule?

I agree w/ Texas having the toughest schedule here on out. But I think USC does play one currently ranked team in Oregon. Of course, they're down to their 3rd string QB, I think.

Nice analysis. We will definitely be #1 if we manage to get through this crazy schedule unscathed. If not, then I'll be beside myself...

Well, Alabama did already play 2 top 10 teams (@ #3 Georgia, #9 Clemson - neutral site), and still has LSU, so I think the Tide alone among the top teams has an argument. Of course, Clemson's #9 was a completely bogus preseason ranking, so at this point we can discount that (although we may have to end up discounting Okie Lite, Kansas, and maybe even Tech by the end of the year).

All that aside, our schedule is brutal, and assuming that our October opponents don't lose bad games before we play them, this could be one of the toughest single-month schedules for any team, ever. It could conceivably be 3 top 5 teams and another top 10 (OSU) at the time we play them.

Just remember you have to do you analysis every week. As we beat these teams and they play each other they will no longer be in the top 10 or even top 25.

I might have missed it in your post, but if the current trends continue, Texas (assuming winning out) will be playing #4 Mizzou again in the B12 Championship. Something similar will happen in the SEC (top 10 vs top 10)

It is a brutal schedule, will make for some incredible games.

I don't see osu making it into the top ten in my lifetime. I would be amazed if they are ranked at the end of the season.

Puddle.. assuming OU wins the Big XII, BCS would take OU and Misery.

After Misery got hosed last year and turned out well for the Cotton Bowl, with at least 2 very recognizable stars in Gimli Daniel and Maclin, a BCS bowl would jump at them.

Having said all that, if Texas is in a position to play in the venerable old Cotton Bowl, they would jump at the chance to have Texas.. the last year in the old bowl with the school that has the most appearances.

I'll be the happiest man in the world if it happens, but anyone that thinks this team is going to go undefeated through the regular season is mainlining the kool aid. And if that somehow actually happens, there is no way an undefeated Texas team with that schedule is left out of the championship game, so you can rest easy.

The OU game is a tossup. Texas has the ability to win every other game on that schedule going away. The Missouri game will be very important because if we lose to OU, that game will be the difference between a BCS bowl and the Cotton Bowl.

The Horns have the toughest schedule due to their upcoming conference games. It's certainly not due to the efforts of Bill Snyder, whom the Horns used as their non-conference schedule coordinator this year.

How about playing 4 Top 10 teams

remaining schedule for OSU
vs. Aggy
@ Mizzou
vs. Baylor
@ Texas
vs. Iowa State
@ Tech
@ Colorado
vs. 0U

i know we ***** about our non conference games a lot, but i believe that some of the games we schedule may play a part in recruiting.
