Would like to start a list of former players in all sports that represented the University in a positive light. Not only as a player but as a good citizen. Giving back to the community, fund raising. Just basically being an all around role model. My list is some what limited to football but those that follow the other sports more closely please add to the list.

Rosev. Leaks
Earl Campbell
Tommy Nobis
Kevin Durant
Colt Mccoy
Jordan Shipley
Rod Babers
Lam Jones
Derek Johnson
Jerry Gray
Quan Cosby

These are just a few of course. I guess when you compare the good to the few bad apples it's fairly lopsided.

Oh wait . . . . . . . . .

Actually, how about Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw and Justin Leonard. Those guys still flash the horns sign to the cameras.

first reply nailed it.

also, kinda geeking out here, but Lord British (Richard Garriot) holds it down well for Texas. Warren Spector too. Spector himself even returned to Texas after achieving fame to teach courses in Comp Sci because he felt the field was lacking from when he was there.

McCurey Hercules Walls.

A great receiver and track athlete. I remember reading an interview with Herkie at a track meet where they were asking each athlete what their goal was. Herkie's answer wasn't a target time in the 100m or the 4x100 relay. His answer was "To be a good man."

He is currently a football coach, teacher and pastor in Florida.
