ruffin gave up a double, but everyone looked great.

new mexico is pretty damned good, especially on defense.

The Horns' pitching was impressive. TJ started out the game a little nervous, but settled down quickly.
When Ruffin came in the last inning, you could feel his intensity. He worked quickly. After the
game, Augie said that UNM has a good, hitting team. He was satisfied with the team effort (for a first game).
This makes for a warm and cozy start of the season.

Poindexter did have a good outing. We'll need our middle guys to have a strong year. Hopefully he can get some midweek starts.

Ruffin looked pissed off when he got to the mound. In a good way.

There is nothing more that I love in baseball than a lights out closer.

Street, Cox, Wood to Ruffin = Dirty.

Ruffin looked great in the 8th, but lost it in the 9th. I don't know what it was, but I do think it's too early to say how he'll end up. Maybe it'll take him a few series to warm to the closer role. I'll trust Augie and Skip for now.

I hope we can take the rubber match tomorrow. I've got to think we'll have to do that without Chance. His workload in the first two games will likely preclude using him Sunday.

How can we lose to an unranked Lobo team at home? Giving up 12 hits is not good. We also have 4 errors in two games. This was painful today. I know it's early, but this sucks.
