'Horns Need to Name Ash Starting QB'

I got a kick out of the "children getting ribbons" analogy! Ya... they need to name a starter alright...

Careful, boys, over on "On the Field" the HornFans professional talent evaluators are saying that Case is still being screwed out of a job by our idiot coaches who know nothing, which is why we are losing.....no wait, scratch that last part.

I'll say again that I just want to win and don't care who's the QB. With that said, I'll reserve my judgement until he has to throw 20-25 times to win. Floyd came in and handed off twice for over 10 yards.

The author left out the most obvious reason IMO. Coaches want to keep the pressure on both young QBs to be at their very best in each and every practice. We need them both to move up the learning curve as fast as possible.

^ Otherwise it's the same effect as getting a verbal commitment from a recruit a year before signing day.

Probably should stop the whining about playing with a 4th string QB. It is obvious MB and JB were never going to play so Hills had all week to get ready (as #2 to Fozzy). The coaches should have made the blocking and/or play adjustments for his play (but did a poor job of that).

Bottom line is Missouri sold out to forcing Texas to pass to beat them. Texas has no passing game, so that was the game.

Look for a repeat of the same plan the next 4 games (including the bowl game). It will be up to Texas to force a change.

Yes. The holes were there - he could not get through them before they closed. Different blocking schemes could have helped.

The O-line was not the problem in the Missouri game. There were holes and wide open receivers all day along.

Case or Ash, doesnt matter. Neither one of them could hit the side of a barn if their life depended on it. As a fan, it's disgusting and embarassing, watching the two of them try to muddle their way on the field.
I would never have believed Mack would have ever allowed Texas football to sink to this level of futility and national joke.
I predict Texas loses the next 3 games, yes even the one to aggy.

This year reminds me of 1976. DKR's last year.

Rotating QBs of Ted Constanzo and Mike Cordaro.

5-5-1.

Earl was a junior in the wishbone (fullback, IIRC, out of position, overweight, nagging hamstring injuries). 1976 he got about 650 yards, averaged about 4.5 ypc.

Then, 1977, "I" and veer formations, trainers got some weight off him, hammy injuries went away, ran for 1700+ yards at 6.5 ypc avg.

All-American calibre QBs Mark McBath and Jon Aune with season ending injuries in the OU game.

3rd string nobody QB Randy McEachern did a good job of handing off to Earl. 11-0, #1 ranking most of the year and a Heisman for Earl.

Coaching is important. Oh, and having a guy like Earl Campbell is too.

Scariest thing is that GG transfered because he couldn't get separation from the rest of the QBs on the depth chart!

Hey Gang!! I concur, as we DO need to just stick with 1 QB and keep him our starter for the remainder of the season. I saw UT QB 2012 recruit, Connor Brewer play on ESPN2 earlier this season and lemme tell y'all someting.....he will beat out both, David Ash, and Case mcCoy for the starting QB next year.

P.S. " MUCH PHIZZOU"!!!
HOOk'EM!!!

UT will most likely go 6-6 with the KSU - a@m games being pretty ugly for the Horns. Brewer can't get here fast enough. The qb situation is past rediculous. Let Ash finish out what's left of the season.

Two years in a row, without a proper QB. Unbe'freaking'lievalbe. What the heck has Mack been up to in recruiting.
The QB's Texas has had just do not seem to be coachable. It's like the dumbest of the dumb were recruited for the position. They just cannot seem to learn anything!

Next years class is always the best.
