Marcus Davis out of Clear Creek HS. No. 15 on the LSR top 100. No. 1 CB in the state. Another big pickup by Mack. This is going to be an exciting 48 hours.

TenDead: It is. Apparently Mack went ahead and mailed out offers to several recruits. Either that or Davis followed Gilbert's lead and initiated contact with Mack about committing.

Rumors are also swirling around that McFarland has also committed, but I personally think that may be wishful thinking more than anything else.

Anyone else think this 2009 class could be as big of a landmark class as the 2002 class was?

I'm thinking it could be.
 
I don't think it will be quite that impressive, but it could very well be the second best class of the Mack Brown era.

My personal opinions:

Hey! you can't be committing two top athletes in head to heads battles with us already? Don't these athlete realize A&M offered them, too? You're not even into your junior day yet!

Didn't these commits read about all the emphasis A&M is putting on recruiting in the press releases every time we hired a new coach?

Didn't they read about how all the NFL experience would attract the top recruits to A&M?

Didn't these commits get to talk to our top recruiters ? You know, the two coaches that each had signed 1 four star recruit in the last five years before A&M hired them? Not the rest of the coaches that had signed 0 four/five star athletes in the last five years before A&M hired them! This compares to the 62 UT signed in the same five year period. ( Sorry, there is no comparison).

I'm so po'd at $Bill Byrne for this unfolding embarassment; how could he let this coaching/ recruiting hire debacle happen?

Scorecard (after A&M's junior day two weeks ago and before any results out of UT's junior day): A&M 0, UT 2, ou 1.

Reggie Herring reportedly said Thursday night that A&M's talent level wasn't what he expected. Well he aint seen nothing yet; wait until this years signing's are in!

Some suggested Reggie didn't want his future coaching record tainted. I guess the large number of late decommits, reported head to head loses to ole miss, la tech, and north texas, and then the press releases about the number of A&M commits signing with Navarro and Blinn, and finally the potential grade risks that won't show up till fall, all really got to him!

I know it got to me!

Why do I expect to be embarassed time and again this year both on and off the field?

Winning coaches recruit four and five star athletes, say it's about winning and win!

Losing coaches recruit all the two star athletes,the three star athletes, and the grade risks left over, say it's about player development and lose!
