Here is a very enjoyable article about the Texas Longhorn's basketball team after the North Carolina game. Obviously it is December and it is still early. But this team did look really strong on Saturday. It was my sense that this was the first game so far that they looked like they were starting to come together as a team a little bit, and not just playing as an assortment of individual players. They still have a way to go on that front, but the lead players on this team were crystal clear for all to see on Saturday.
The Texas starting lineup is very impressive, and both Jordon Hamilton and J'Covan Brown qualify as 'diaper dandies' for sure. Alexis Wangmene and Gary Johnson are two guys who would start for most other teams in the NCAA, and who provide some real muscle off of the bench. If Jai Lucas rounds into the form that most people think he will, then these five guys constitute a second-string, five-man lineup that is better than what most of the teams in the Big 12 will field this year as their starters.
CBS may be getting a little too carried away, too early in the season with the title of their article below. But the analysis in the article is solid. This is shaping up to be a very exciting year for Texas basketball.
