Horns BB team disbanded??

Just wondering. Do we have a basketball team this year? I saw that a lot of teams have played some games already, and came here to see what you guys were saying about our team. I guess nobody here cares. Or may be the team has been disbanded or something. If not ...

GET IT ROLLING PEOPLE!! Our team will be playing this weekend, damnit. This place is so friggin dead.

Ok, seriously. Let's cheer our kids. I am kinda excited to see what this rather highly-rated freshman group does. Go Horns!

Me too, when Ridley didn't sign I came right here to find out why and not a thing.
Someone must have some info on how the practices are going.
Who from last year has stepped up their game, what freshmen are standing above the others? Loved coming here every day last year to get the latest and greatest, hope all the hoops junkies are ready to roll.

I think the fact that no one knows what to expect from our team this year has led to the lack of talk some. We have no clue what we will be getting in basketball this year.
 
Why would LHN matter right now. No games have been played yet, for us to complain about LHN. I was also wondering about things like practices and everything. There was Barnes' presser this week too. Nobody bothering to say a word about anything.

Hummmmmm......and tonights game must be played on........that's right, the LHN. Unless I stream it on the "free weekend" The university so graciously provided I can't watch it at all. As a matter of fact over 1/3 of the games are on the LHN which I can't get. I believe all but two or three games last year was on a channel I can actually view.


As a matter of fact, 7 of the first 9 games are on the LHN. It's very difficult to get excited about something you can't see.
 
Hey, I am in the left coast at L.A, and typically get to see only 40% of the games. Actually much fewer some 20 years back when I graduated and came here. That had not really affected my enthusiasm.... Just saying. R.J.
 
only thing I could gather is that McClellan must be damn good. On the LHN preview of Texas Basketball - All Access while Rick is coaching he comments, " I would like to get McClellan 20 shots like that every game"
 
Sorry Jay if I came across harsh. I guess I was spoiled and the university taketh away so I am a bit disgruntled right now. I have a hard time getting enthusiastic about something I can't see. I'm guessing unless I have my FM radio tuned in I'd have to pay to listen online too.
 
Wow, this could be fun. Was at the game tonight and the boys are talented. Boston U certainly did not field a JV team. They had size and were quick. But the Horns were better. Holmes has big time potential inside. Kabongo has lots of potential and looks more like a soph. Lewis can certainly play. Brown can still shoot, that's for sure. They played Barnes D most of the time so they have bought in to that so far. Better team coming to town on Tuesday though and hopefully the fans can make it to the 3 p.m. game. I'll be there.

didn't watch the game. Looked at the box score and notice that 9 players got 14 minutes or more 6 of those 9 are true freshman. The others are Brown, Wangmene, and Chapman.

I am not sure how good a team this young will be. We'll see.....at least after the first 9 games when we are allowed to watch them that is.
 
Everybody can watch tomorrow afternoon on ESPN. This weekend's games are on line at the ESPN site. Now, the only games on LHN until the new year are the in-state fodder. UCLA is on FSN, Temple and UNC are on ESPN2.

Could be worse.

Back in the day... ah, well.

I guess I am spoiled. The last game I remember listening to on the "wireless" was in the 80's in HS practicing on my driveway. I had my boom box set up while I was playing as if I were in the game. Of course i made the winning shot.

What was the announced attendance at the Rhode Island game? I know it was an odd time, during the week, but the empty seats, well it looked like the Weltlich years. This year's team will be maddening, but fun to watch anyway.
 
It's still football season and I usually don't pay attention till it's over. This year its even more difficult with the games being on the LHN. I know the team will be very athletic but young.
I was more enthusiatic about hoops but with all of the one and dones, I don't get as excited about it. Now I don't blame Tristian Thompson bolting after being the 2nd overall pick. At the same time, I would be looking forward to how well he would mesh with Myck Kabongo. Same with Corey Joseph.
 
I agree with Horn4. One-and-done plus LHN and who cares at this time of year.

I love BB. Try to play 2 or 3 times per week. But, I feel no ownership at this time.
