Anyone else having trouble with the page loading correctly? Its also taking longer to open a page and even access the threads.

I know its not a problem with the speed of my comp. Any ideas?

Can we get someone to take a look at this?

Thanks in advance to the Admins.

Katy and Bob (blacklab) have been working on this since last week. Part of the problems today have been from them working on it.

We believe that we'll have things back to normal soon and we'll also have some new "upgrades" before the season starts (hopefully).

Yeah... things have been pretty bad for the last week or so. Better now than when the flood of seasonal Hornfanners comes back in 2 or 3 weeks for the start of the season...

Oh... and I do find it funny when non-paying member complain about the performance of this site.

I wasn't complaining. I was simply trying to figure out if the problem was with my computer or if other users were having the same problems I was. Then I respectfuly requested the admins to look into it because I wasn't the only one.

We hope that we've fixed the "[censored]" problem and thanks for that to the user that emailed me this morning. After re-installation of an updated server last night, we're having some normal bugs that we're working on.

Information is helpful. However, it isn't helpful to contact us telling us the site is running slowly.

What does help is when you are experiencing a strange/bizarre problem and you email us telling us when it is happening, whether you're logged in or not, if it's happening on all pages, etc., etc.

OB, I know this has been asked before but do you and Katie both have full time jobs and do everything on Hornfans? I would hope that enough money is generated that you could get some sort of compensation for all the work you guys put into the site.

Folks, honestly the complaints (and the occasional praise) have the same effect, regardless of whether one is a sponsor of the site or not. This is a free site, in that any sponsorship is completely voluntary. The sponsors are absolutely essential to keeping the lights on here. We couldn't cover costs without them. But we all want the site to work well, regardless of whether we can afford to help with the costs or not.

I think we've worked out most of the recent problems. Please let me know how its been going.

Also, please send email to [email protected] in the future, if problems occur. I don't read Horn Depot every day and I didn't even know about the [censor] thing until today after someone emailed Orangeblood about it. We didn't see that problem ourselves because it was only happening to people who have the optional profanity filter turned on. Robert and I cuss like sailors, so we see all the dirty words in all of their glory. The filter file got corrupted so the profanity filter was seeing almost everything as a naughty word, which is why you got the crazy stuff above. Anyway, the point is PLEASE email us with problems. We'll get that much faster than seeing a post or even reading a PM.

Again, please let me know how it is going. Performance has been good from both work and home for me today, but I need a broader picture. Looking at the site "under the hood" it seems to be running well, but the real test is how it is for you folks.

Turn off the censor or turn on the censor?

Go to your profile and turn off the profanity filter if you don't mind seeing profanity. Turn the filter on if you prefer that such language be filtered.
