Hornfans Lock Pick of the Week

ok, so i am going to Las Vegas this week and had an idea. The collective wisdom of a community should be greater than an individual (i.e. me)

I will place a $20 bet on the Hornfans lock pick of the week. Remember, this is not pick em, it is against the spread. If the bet wins, I will send Dion a check on behalf of the community for the total winnings, just for fun

Give me your lock pick of the week against the spread for this weekends games, whichever game gets the most picks, gets the bet

FYI, you can consider Friday nights game (UCLA v. Colorado) in the mix of games to consider for the lock of the week as I will be there in time for that game

Let’s win Dion some $$$ :bevo::hookem::bounce1:

Good pick MH, spread is CU -10, I have that in my personal betting radar. CU QB is good.

My initial take is LSU -12 at home at night against Ole Miss

LSU -12 against a horrible Ole Miss team; 8 pm kickoff in Baton Rouge; 95,000 drunk coonasses

Aggies over the Hogs at Jerry World; that line exploded from -16 to -21; Fisher has no class and will run up the score if he gets a chance. Fisher has a competent staff, Arkansas playing with an ineffective HS coach.

O/U - UNC at Joe Robbie against the criminals of Convict Gables. Rent is due over the weekend at all the trailer parks, crack dealers will be around collecting debts over the weekend. O/U is 100 people in attendance; I'm taking the under

I am not completely sold on LSU. Will they win, absolutely, but Ole Miss can score points. This game, as far as spread is concerned, will be the matchup of LSU D vs Ole Miss O.

I thought TCU would win and that Nebraska vs. Michigan was an upset special for Frost's first win. So.... I'll just be sitting over here very quietly rooting for greater minds on this one :hookem:

Cmon ES, Dion is counting on us! Just your gut check. Look, pick and win for Hornfans lol

Why are we picking locks? You trying to get into a secure compound?

But seriously:
1 - Iowa State a 10.5 underdog to TCU. This game should be close to a toss-up, and even if ISU loses they are very likely to keep it close given that they played Iowa and OU well. Even a 10-point loss and you win the bet.

2 - East Carolina by 6.5 over Old Dominion. ECU is 1-2 but they played a very good (for G5) South Florida team close and the close line is a reflection of coming right after the crazy win. If this game is in November, that line is way higher. Last week was amazing but also likely a complete fluke.

3 - Texas A&M by 16.5 over Arkansas. A&M is mad and this is the time of the year they are at their best and Arkansas is a colossal mess. A&M may very well win by 30+ and just pile it on the hapless Hogs.

Okay look.... I also wanted John Mackovic to get another year, thought Gary Barnett was the obvious hire when he didn't, and thought there was absolutely no way OU would play for all the marbles in 2000.

You don't entrust your accountant to change your oil or your mechanic to plan your next overseas vacation. You don't want me anywhere near football predictions... trust me :p

So far, Aggy -21 has the most votes. That’s dirty money. :brickwall:

Can I tempt anyone besides me to vote Michigan -14.5 at Northwestern (NW lost 90 % of it’s rushing offense this week, their star RB Jeremy Larkin had to retire for medical reasons, spinal issues)

LSU is now -10.5 (down from -12) :smile1:

I have 9 I like and 1 for sure. I'll rank in reverse order
10. ODU +6.5
9. Army +6 Buffalo
8. PSU+4 OSU
7. Purdue -3
6. osu -17
5. USC -2 Arizona
4. Mich St. -28 CMU
3. Duke -4 Va.Tech
2. aggie -16.5
1. TEXAS -7 = Lock

UNT -7 at home versus La Tech. The Bulldogs spent all of their energy trying to keep it close against LSU in Baton Rouge last weekend. UNT might be the best midmajor team in the country.

I still think OleMiss/LSU is safe. OleMiss can score, and anybody can score on them.

I would say the first half individual team totals, as well as game total should be watched closely, and use that for easy money in the second half on either or both individual team totals, as well as game total for second half.

Ok, Aggy gets the single game bet
Parlay pays 5-1. I’m considering throwing ten bucks on Colorado, Aggy, LSU (or maybe Georgia?)

LSU/OleMiss might be worth six bets, if not eight or ten, although, while I like the team totals for both halves, as well as for the game, I'm not sure that the LSU minus isn't good for both halves as well

Ok Dion, the bets, er investments, are in
Aggy -21 for $20
Parlay Colorado, Aggy, LSU for $10 (pays 5 to 1 less the house take)
