Hornfans.com recipe collection v1.1 *2/18/07*

HF.com recipe collection v1.1

Alright, v1.1 has been sent to Katy. No major revisions yet, just some modifications to a few recipes, some additions of recent posts, and the addition of a few pictures. The pictures really kicked up the file size (3MB) so beware if you are not on broadband. Thanks again to Katy for hosting the file.

SMDHorn has offered some assistance with formatting and design, so look for some big revisions in the future. I think we would eventually like to get this cleaned up and ported over to a pdf. If anyone else is interested in doing some editing or formatting of recipes, your assistance would be appreciated.

Cheers.

---------------------------------------------
So since we have this new foodie forum, I thought I would share my collection of Hornfans.com recipes. By no measure is my collection comprehensive. There have been lots of good recipes that have been bounced around these boards that didn't make it into my word file. Basically, I cut and pasted some recipes that jumped out at me when I was sufficiently motivated to save a copy. I did very little editing to the content, basically cut and pasted the posts and applied some formatting.

There are sections for App and Sides, Chili, BBQ, Tex-Mex, Ethic Fare, Poulty, Cow, Pork, Seafood, Cocktails and a few others. The TOC is clickable and will take you right to a recipe. I thought others might be interested in a copy of the collection. I did my best to attribute the recipes to the authors when available.

If you have a recipe (esp personal recipes ie not food network etc) to add to this collection, post it here, and I will update the file and update the download with v1.1. If there is sufficient interest, perhaps one of the mods would consider making it a sticky, or even better, converting the file to a indexed, clickable post. If someone is sufficiently motivated, I think it would also be nice for a couple of sections (eg BBQ, Chili) to have intros written or updated by posters who are esp knowledgable in particular areas (*cough* brisketexan*cough*MrMyke*cough*).

Anyways, if you have a recipe you want to share and add to the collection...suggested formatting:

[Title]

[Recipe]

Submitted by: [handle]

Also, if there is an active post ont he board that you think should be added, link it and I will try to add it. If you have a similar collection in a doc format, I could also merge the files if you post it.

I only have one complaint about this cookbook. Under the recipe for Beer Can Chicken it says:

"All I do is pour out half the beer, spray the chicken with canola or olive oil and sprinkle on some kind of rub "

Pour out half the beer?
