Thanks for doing this! We stayed in the block rooms last time and rode the bus to the game too. Had a blast. I'll be calling the Hotel and looking forward to the bus news.
Yep. We were givein 40 rooms to start with and then they addede a few more, but we filled them within a couple of days. The hotel is almost completely sold out and are selling their last rooms for $200+/night.
For those that waited to pull the trigger, I'm sorry. IF (and it's 50-50) any of the block cancels, we'll revise this thread to let people know.
The last two Rose Bowl trips, we stayed at the Sheraton Universal. Had a great time. There's alot to do and see there with Universal Studios and City Walk.all varieties of restaurants, shops, etc. There were alot of Hornfans and the Band there too.
Yes, Vans pick up and take you to Parsons, where shuttles take you to Rose Bowl. The first trip, we walked down the hill from hotel, got on the Subway.took Red line train to Union Station, switched to the Gold Line to Pasadena.Very easy.
So, you have your airfare and (hopefully) made the cut with the foundation. However, LA hotels seem a bit pricey. We've worked out a deal for y'all and for us (no free rooms, we pay the same price). The Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown. We have locked in a rate of $129/night, free internet in your room (wired, so bring a cable), and no minimum stay. A potential downside, however, is $28/night for parking if you have a rent car. Just want to make sure y'all know that in advance.
The Sheraton now has a web site where y'all can book it yourselves at the following link: RESERVATION LINK. Also, you can book by phone at 1-800-325-3535. The group name is HornFans (of course). There are a limited number of rooms available, so you'd be best served by booking early. This deal will be available until 12/23/09 or until the block fills completely. As of 12/24, the remaining rooms (if there are any) will be released.
If you have trouble booking, let me know and I'll see what we can do. PM or email at [email protected].
Also, as transportation opportunities open up or other information becomes available, I'll update this thread ASAP.
****************UPDATE***************
Though we tried, NO BUS IS MAKING A STOP. However, the hotel is across the street from the train stop. As quoted by someone who stayed at this hotel in 2006:
