Horn Fans at Wrigley?

On LHN this morning they reported that there were many Hornfans at the Cubs game and they sang the Eyes.

Well, we went to the Cubs' game at Wrigley on Sunday. There were quite a few Longhorn fans on Sunday but obviously not as many as on Friday.

We got to see a grand slam and the longest HR this year in the majors -- both by the Cubbies. Definitely worth the visit -- unlike that pathetic Saturday evening game in South Bend for which we had bought incredibly expensive tickets, paid to be flown there, rented a car, and paid those inflated prices for hotel rooms.

Charlie, you have no clue about how different it feels now than during the Mack Brown years. Mack would have given ND a run for their money. He had a clue; you don't.

We will be at all the away games this year since we made those flight, hotel and rental car reservations and bought tickets to all the away games. But next year? For the first time in twenty years, we may boycott away games -- all because Bill Powers had a stupid political agenda to fulfill rather than the best interests in mind for the University of Texas at Austin.

I was at Wrigley on Friday with a BUNCH of other Longhorns. It was a great atmosphere and I was asked 4 or 5 times "why are all these Texans here?" When the Texas! Fight! chant started, it took over the stadium. The organist played the Eyes and then Deep in the Heart of Texas and had half the stadium standing and singing. The Chicago newspaper website had "Texas Longhorn fans take over Wrigley Field" with one quote calling Wrigley, Disch-Falk North. Just put Eyes of Texas Wrigley Field in your favorite browser and see all the articles that come up. Very cool!
