I'm not sure where to post this, so I'll dump it here.

My daughter's dance studio has a huge recital at the local community college, with a run of 14 shows. One of the most popular dances is the "Dad's Dance" and this year's theme is baseball. We are all wearing a baseball uniform of our choice and I, of course, am sporting a Longhorns jersey and cap.

At last night's show, as we ran off the stage, someone with a very loud, deep voice, yelled "Hook 'Em Horns" from the audience. I flashed the horns back, but I have no idea who the guy ways and couldn't see a thing with the stage lighting.

Oh well. I guess I'll never know who the guy was, but regardless..... Hook 'Em Horns!!!

Fact is we're everywhere.

In 1984, we played State Penn at The Meadowlands. "My One and Only" was the hottest ticket in town. During the final curtain call, Tommy Tune reached up with a Hook Em Horns and the curtain followed his hand from top to the stage. The place went wild. Turned out that 80-90% of the audience were Texas fans.

Side note: After the show we walked over to Caroline's between 8th & 9th on 46th I think). The waiter told us and the table next to us that the special of the evening was "Texas Tenderloin", a flank steak cooked over a special wood called "mes-quit" and then thinly sliced. I had to tell him that it's called "fajitas". In 1984 it was the special at $27.95.

Joe,

Try Da Nico's on Mulberry - great food & service, not as expensive as some Houston or Dallas wannabes

I occasionally see a piece of Texas gear in our neighborhood here as well. Not unusual to see it walking around in NYC. It always cheers me up a little...

BTW speaking of Horns in NJ, I saw Chris Sims in an Italian place in the Village a few weeks ago. I am always amazed at how tall that guy is...
