Honeymoon Help!!

I am getting married July 6th in Seattle but will be returning to Austin afterwards. I am considering various places in Mexico because it is the only location that seems reasonable for flights from Seattle. My goal is to have at least a few days of complete relaxation in a very nice room (preferably with a pool) and then possibly an all-inclusive to have some more fun later in the trip.

Right now I am considering a package at Ikal Del Mar and then Royal Hideaway near Playa Del Carmen. I've also looked into the Las Brisas in Acapulco, and I'd love to hear about some good ideas elsewhere on the Pacific side.

I would love to hear some real recommendations or personal experiences if anyone has some.

Thanks in advance

My best friend and her husband went to Puerto Vallarta for their honeymooon. they stayed at a really nice place, which I couldn't even tell you where, but they had their own balcony with a jacuzzi. I'll look in to that for ya and w/b!

If Mexico is a must, I would suggest Puerto Vallarta is not that great. If you want to be on the Pacific side, you are much better off in Cabo.

Of your suggestions, Royal Hideaway is fantastic. It is always rated as one of the 500 best hotels in the world and Playa is very nice..

July in Mexico is extremely hot and humid on either coast. It makes Houston in July feel like Seattle. Do you want 98 degrees with 80% humidity and showers every afternoon?
We went to a friends wedding in Zihua last July and it was miserable.
Take the Hawaiian Air direct from Seattle to Maui or HNL and hop where ever.
United flies to the big island from Seattle too.

Or head to Peru for the mountains in their high season.

I've considered Hawaii and there's a couple problems. 1) We'd be leaving from Seattle but returning to Austin so the return leg of the trip would be fairly expensive. 2) 7/7/07 is aparently the most popular date for weddings ever, and a TON of honeymooners will be there. We just dont want to feel like cattle that week.

I'm warming up to the Royal Hideaway idea...I also looked into La Casa Que Canta in Zihuatanejo but im affraid we'll have to starve that week because we'll spend all of our dough on accomodations.

Thanks for the input...I'd love to hear some more suggestions.
