Home Warranties

avoid home warranties. they don't cover anything (read the fine print).
if they covered what you think they do, they wouldn't be able to stay in business. the point is for them to sell you a contract and for their contractors to go out to their trucks and report back that you are not covered and then for that same contractor to sell you the job at normal cost. the warranty co. and the contractor both win. why would the contractor work for below cost?

Let me add a piece of info that I neglected to put in my original post: I'm not buying the warranty, the seller of the house I am buying is. Otherwise, I would not be getting a home warranty.
