home stereo fm antenna?

I have a cheap best buy receiver mounted outside by my pool that power my outdoor speakers...all of the sudden i cant pick up any fm radio stations..not sure if my antenna (the two wire kind) is bad or my receiver is bad...anyone know of a decent "booster" antenna to try before ditching the receiver?

I have good luck in the past with a $20 amplified AM/FM antennae from Radio Shack

If the connections didnt come loose on the antenna I'd guess something went wrong with the unit for such a sudden change. But perhaps not

I guess I should have said its more of a receiver and not a stereo..it works fine for my TV to speakers but when i switch over to tuner i get a faint signal on radio stations..i can here if barely with a lot of static and then nothing..my connections are the two wires where you press the button and it opens up to put in the wire connectors....i havent really seen anything yet that will work
