Home Security Systems

So I'm looking to have an alarm system installed in my house. Any suggestions on what company/service package to go with? So far I've looked at ADT and Brinks, what others am I missing? Brinks has only two package options, but ADT has several and it's a little confusing. Also, do you need to have a phone line for the monitoring service?

I'm in Dallas (Frisco) if that matters at all.

Ive had Brinks for almost 10 years and have been pretty satisfied with them. They have called pretty quickly on the times that I accidentally tripped the alarm. I like that the alarm is tied to the smoke detector too.

I have ADT and the smoke/heat detector is connected with the monitored service. That is what I gladly pay for. It senses heat, not just smoke and notifies them to call the fire department. The way a call is usually made is from a neighbor who notices smoke or flame coming from the roof. By then it is too late and you lose your ****, most of it.

At least with earlier detection those few precious minutes are covered with a monitored system. It is this and this alone that keeps me gladly paying the extra money for a monitored system over just using the sound the siren would provide. My neighbors are good security too if they were to hear the alarm sound above and beyond calling the cops for me.

I also get a good amount of my monthly rate refunded via insurance rebate for having a system monitored. Does not cover all or even most but a good chunk of it. I cannot think of any other than Brinks and ADT that come to mind.

There is Lasershield, however. While they offer monitored service they don't have the fire protection, if that means anything to you.

I work for a security company in Austin Send me a pm and i will get in touch with you and see if i can help you.
