Okay, 11 games in the books and 356 at bats later...still no jack jobs or moon shots. Not even a lazy bloop that scraped over the corner wall. And since we play 10 more home games until hitting the road for Stillwater, I thought we might wanna throw in some predictions. Who's gonna be the first Longhorn to christen the air above the outfield wall? Against what team? We can guess the actual game, but I think that may be asking for too much. Thoughts?

I say Lusson puts one over the fence this weekend against Brown. Weiss would not be a bad guess either.

Predicting the first home run is like predicting the weather. It will be wind-aided and happen about 5-6 hours before
a strong norther. That is when the strong southeast winds will be blowing and left field fence will get "closer". That
will not be today. During the game today the winds will be less than 10 mph from the south.

I'm also going with the streak ending this evening against UTSA. Towler had almost a 9 ERA and gave up a homer every 6 innings last year. 8 HR's in 48 innings. He had a very strong outing and got the win against UH in only appearance this year. That luck won't last against another high level team (compared to teams they normally play). The wind looks good to me. 10MPH isn't much, but what I look for most is when the wind isn't blowing in or completely right-left or left-right. We don't need a strong carrying wind to clear the fence, mainly just nothing blowing against us. Am I wrong about the direction tonight? Wouldn't 10MPH South wind be blowing out to left mostly, even if not that hard?

As for batter? Going with Lusson. Last year he hit 14 dingers in 205 AB's. Roughly an average of one HR every 15 AB's. With 24 AB's...he's overdue. Then again, Lusson could sit tonight, if that's the case give me Walla who is also several AB's past his HR average from last year. So the HR is happening tonight...Lusson if he starts, Walla if Lusson doesn't. Gotta be in the box to hit one out. lol

I say Zero over the fence this year at home. We will have an inside the parker since the OFs are playing so shallow.

Got the day, but not the player...Not too horrible!
