Any general contractors out there that might help me out?

I want to install a new island vent hood in our kitchen. Our previous cooktop had a fan built into the top (old JennAir model). Our new cooktop is an induction type that does not have the built in vent. We want to install one above it and route the vent outdoors.

We presently have fluorescent lighting that we would like to replace with recessed lights as well. There is no attic above the kitchen.

I'm in the Georgetown area.

Any ideas? Any recommendations?

Brisketexan might be a good resource; he had his kitchen redone & they had a copper 'free floating' hood vent installed (stove top was in the center of the room).
