Does anyone have some recent experience adding on to their home in Austin? Specifically, any thoughts on good contractors (oxymoron?), average price per square foot of add-on. We're thinking of adding a master suite (bathroom, closet, etc.).

The part of the house to which we'd like to add also happens to be where the breaker box is, does this affect price?

Thoughts on financing? Our mortgage is at a great rate and I'd rather not refinance the whoe thing.

pm jimmyjazz, don't know him personally, but he has mentioned in threads that he just did the same thing. I think he is happy, but he was very, very involved. I think he did all of the purchasing himself.
