Holy Cow! Recruiting goldmine.

Just got LHN. This is going to be an incredible tool for recruiting. All these schools can set up their networks; but to have one powered by ESPN is crazy good. So well done. Can't wait for baseball season. It is like you were going to buy a new coffee pot, but Starbucks agreed to set up a store in your kitchen-and pay you.

I think providers are waiting to see what happens with conference realignment before negotiating. If I was a provider, that's what I'd do. All eyes on Missouri for now!

I call Holy Cow ******** because I don't have it...

I was able to watch most of the Rice game somehow over the internet.

The LHN did seem quite polished (even if it had the same two commercials ad infinitum).

Glad the LHN continues to impress.

We need to keep it.

The LHN is like the baseball game that Jack Nicholson narrates in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest when they aren't allowed to turn on the TV.

Cuckoo's Nest

Mrs. VYFan says that Nurse Ratched is playing the Aggies, wanting them to turn the imaginary LHN off.

The Longhorn Network is Texas' uncompleted Death Star since many portions of the U.S. can get it while others (especially in Texas) can't. Everything that I've seen so far (on the SD version of LHN on Verizon FIOS here in northern Virginia) is pretty darn slick, if somewhat repetitive, because most of the segments are repeated at least 2x-3x per day. The programming itself, however, is top notch.

Once LHN the becomes available on more carriers nationwide and a fuller portfolio of programming becomes available, the LHN will be a "fully operational battle station". Just as the Rebels in Star Wars were willing to throw everything at the Death Star (in order to destroy it) before it became a doomsday weapon, one can sense the fear and consternation at A&M, OU and other schools regarding the impact LHN will have in the near future.

I think it'll have way more payoff for the buck in the Spring and offseason. You can do features on the Big 4 sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Women's Basketball) from pretty much November through April. Heck, you can spread out a Barnes/Coach G/Garrido coaches' show lineup for midweek.

They've been showing a dozen straight episodes of Longhorn Extra right now, and I hope that changes within the next few months. There's only so much of Galindo and Dunn I can take.

The offseason has lots of potential. Because you can comment on recruits once they sign with you, we can show features about the incoming kids all summer. Right now we're kind of stuck in a "football - football - football - volleyball - football" rotation, and there's so much potential to add some other sports into the mix.
