Hollywood is Pissed at Obama: no more cash

I agree with you, Huisache.

Of course, I'll be voting Libertarian.

But Obama did basically give the finger to a major cash crop for his reelection.

Has the entertainment industry demonstrated any real economic harm in their efforts at clamping down on file-sharing? Illegally traded copyrighted materials does not necessarily equate to lost revenue.

I agree with the opposition to SOPA but I hope maybe the tech community might be able to come up with some better proposed methods for protecting intellectual property. File sharing is not cool and the producers of content should be compensated when it is used.

From Obama's perspective I don't see a good solution. Sure he ignored Hollywood execs, but he listened to one of his core constituencies. What is more important to Obama, votes or money? And I seriously doubt that Hollywood would stop sending him money. Who else are they going to support? He probably will just get less money than he would otherwise and he already has a huge war chest for the upcoming election.

Oh please. There was a lot of public awareness and outrage over SOPA/PIPA. Most politicians scurried away from this bill ASAP. Doing the right thing had little to do with it.
