Hornstar mentioned DVR. Remeber that it won't start until after the UNC-LSU game, so it may not finish until after 11 - which is important if you are recording.

Great story. Brings back memories of 2005 including the Chance Wheeless walkoff HR after previously dislocating his shoulder. It explains why Augie decided not to pitch hit for him.

I loved his passion after the lackluster performances. After watching that, I almost feel like he deserved more from the last few ball clubs. He just wants it so bad for the players to have those memories that so many of his teams have by reaching the pinnacle. We seriously need to get back to Omaha.

I'll be honest: I have a man crush on Coach Garrido after watching that. Loved his intensity and honesty in the locker room. I'd love to play for that coach anyday of the week.

Also brought back fond memories of Stubbs, Teagarden, Street, Cox, Simmons, Cody, Quintanilla, Onteveros, etc. Those were some great teams from 02-05.

One of, if not the best, sports documentaries I have every seen. Augie allowed the cameras in really close, and never let their presence alter his persona or his coaching.

Really, a spectacular program.

One thing he said that I know is true about championship teams is that the best players are also the hardest workers. If that happens you have a chance to be great. I have no idea if that has been true or not for the last few years but I really think this is true.

Loved the anecdote Coach Garrido related about how DKR dropped in on him right after he got here. Royal asked how the team was going to be that season, and Augie started talking about several players with "potential."
Coach Royal said, "Potential?" That's what gets people fired around here.
At the Paramont, that line got a big laugh and a round of applause.

when i got married and stayed the night at the Four Seasons in Austin we went to the bar for some drinks and tried to pull up a spot but someone came over and told us to take a hike since it was reserved.

i was kind of pissed because it was my big day and all but then Augie comes walking up and the dude who told me to cruise kind of gives me the "you aren't Augie" look and I retreated to the back of the bar with huge failed smile (augie of course then sat down). i felt allsome and like a douchebag at the same time. it was pretty cool.
