But yes, awesome views, awesome skyline.

HK has always been in my top 3 skylines. Probably the best view from the Regent/Intercontinental/whatever the hell it is now on the point in Kowloon. Wow.

First went there in xmas of 87 and the island skyscrapers were lit up so massively like I'd never seen nor imagined. And the Kowloon quay walkways were jammed with locals snapping photos. Thousands of folks with expensive cameras. Like another planet, then.

I love the IM Pei Bank of China. My favorite tall skyscraper for a while now. Never been to HK but would love to visit.

One of the coolest things that I have ever seen was the Hong Kong skyline at night as I flew into the old airport. Kai tek I think was the name.

It may just be sentimentality, but Chicago is still my all time favourite skyline and the true 'home' of the skyscraper.... Does anyone know if they are going ahead with the building that is supposed to be taller than Burj Dubai?
(Father in law in Dubai said they are trying to keep the design of Burj Dubai flexible so they can add floors so they can out height new buildings.)

That Foster building along with the Richard Rogers Lloyd's of London Building in London have are two of my favorites.

Lloyd's being my alltime fav.

The HSBC and BoC buildings are good. IFC2 is one ugly building. It is nothing besides a boring box of concrete (except some ugly angles at the top)

Alum03, thank you for the info. That was the building I was thinking of. I just was misinformed about it being taller than Burj Dubai. It is still going to be hella tall.

Hong Kong has an amazing skyline for sure but it's even more impressive at street level imo. The sheer density of the built environment is mind-boggling, even in comparison to other super-dense cities like New York or Paris.

Of course, most of the big Asian cities are like that....
