Hip, hip, JOR-GE = JOR-UH-BLE base running

The discussion seems to have gotten lost in the blowout, but what on earth happened on that play at third where Posada and Cano were both tagged off the base, but only Posada was called out? As he should have been, if for nothing else, for his horrible baserunning in the inning.

I know MLB umpires are human beings and thus inherently imperfect, but I don't know if I have ever seen such a blatant missed call outside an SEC football game.

That was a head-scratcher. Both runners were about two feet away from third base, the catcher runs up with the ball, tags both of them, and only one is called out.
On a replay last night, the announcers could only speculate the umpire was blocked out of a good view of the runner who came from second, and was in position to see the play on the runner who broke for home. That's the only justification I have heard. That wasn't a close play, it wasn't a judgment play, or a bang-bang play, it didn't require slow motion to tell who was out-it was totally obvious that neither runner was remotely close to the bag.

The umps missed a few calls that night, for both teams, that had me wondering what the hell was going on...the tag on Swisher coming back to 2nd where he was clearly out...Swisher's tag-up from 3rd a few plays later where he didn't leave too early...and there was a close play at first where Teixiera's foot might have been off the bag.

In a Hi-Def world, baseball better get on board with instant replay or else there will always be a cloud of shennanigans over the outcome of games. Especially when the Yankees are involved.
