Hill

Did y'all just hear the announcers say she was considering Duke, Marquette, & Ohio State? Where is Texas on that list? They also said that she had made her decision but would announce it next Wed.

As of yesterday.....from ESPN...
"Tayler Hill's latest list still includes home state school Minnesota, Hill confirmed with ESPN HoopGurlz Monday.

Hill, the 12th-ranked player in the class of 2009, said she is still "in communication" with the Gopher program. She also said that Texas
, Duke, Marquette and Ohio State round out her current five. Hill's older brother, P.J., is a junior on the Ohio State men's basketball team."

We can sure use her scoring skills. Come on down Tayler!

Interesting that of the 5 schools she visited officially last Fall (Rhode Island, Duke, Rutgers, Marquette, and Texas), we're the only one still in consideration.

I actually like how Tayler has handled things. She's "set a school free" once she has stopped considering them, instead of "holding them hostage" 'til the end.

I obviously have no idea where she stands as I thought Duke might have been the leader.

We can sure use her shooting and scoring ability, that's for sure . . .

How is this not holding schools hostage? It is the spring signing period. Every other top player has signed. Teams are basically left with trying to get JUCOs or foreign players.

She has the right to take her time making her college choice. But she is taking this down to the wire while teams wait with baited breath.

moooooo...do you think minnesota is really the front runner, or is that just wishful thinking on the part of the local press?

She did not inform our coaching staff, not at least before March 16th........unless I was walking on a Garden Path....

Well i'm not setting myself up for another disapointment (Bone , Paris twins, Candance Parker), so i'm just going to asssume Tayler's going somewhere else.

Just for fun, what opinions do you all have about where she'll go?

JMO, but here goes...

If she stays at Minnesota it's her dad's decision...not hers. She's stated that she wants to "meet new people and play with girls from different states and backgrounds". And goes on to say, "A lot of girls with the Gophers I've played against or played with in the summer."

OSU was a late addition to her list (Feb. 17), with her brother being on the men's team there as a main factor, (but just speculation, of course since that's all that was reported about why OSU became a factor). But he is a junior there. Maybe it's just my thinking but why would she want to commit to a school just because her brother is there when they will only be at the same school together for one year?? And also being at OSU would pit her against Minnesota (the home team she would have spurned) twice a year.

TX is the only team that has remained on her list from the get-go. I'm not getting too excited about it either....because i honestly thought Duke was going to be her choice. I feel better now about our chances with her.....BUT if her family wins out in either of the other scenarios......

c'est la vie!!! won't be the first disappointment, and won't be the last.

and you can find those quotes i posted here...

i agree that we are just going to have to wait and see on this one. just as everyone assumed bone was leaning towards an in-state program (and everyone was wrong), i think most had hill leaning heavily towards duke...and again this turned out not to be the case. my personal feeling is texas meets all of her criteria to a far greater degree than her other remaining choices, but whether or not this means anything...i guess we'll find out in about ten days or so!

I agree with Moooooo that Hill is handling this very well. Spring is (or was) the period when players made an official decision on where they were going. We have gotten spoiled with the early signing period.

I hope that Hill will come here but, if not, well, that's the way it goes. Texas will get their share of outstanding players.

supposedly no later than tax day but after the championship game was played (tonight). maybe she will announce tomorrow?

" The Gophers, Ohio State and Texas remain finalists, still with no
front-runner. Hill and her parents have consulted with an expert from Utah about how to make important decisions and have found the exercise worthwhile. "

One can't overanalyze the options, can they? Analysis Paralysis? Can't wait to hear her decision.

I know that not every update we read is completely accurate, but a few weeks ago, during the MN state semi-finals, it was reported that Tayler almost made her announcement at the conclusion of that game.

But, the last few updates we've read indicate there's no front-runner?

Something doesn't add up to me, so I definitely don't feel optimistic about our chances at the moment . . .

Since she is sweating the decision this bad, I would give the advantage to U of M. Home often wins out when you aren't sure. She is probably embarrassed at how long this taking. What does somebody in Utah know about making decisions that the rest of us don't? I might want to hire him/her, too.
