Hill Country Winery

Wife wants to go to some winery tastings in the Hill Country. Can anyone recommend any? Also, recommendations for a place to stay, Fredericksburg? This will probably be on a weekend in early June.

Definitely go to Becker Vinyards. It is in a nice setting very close to Fredericksburg and they make the best wines in Texas as far as I can tell.

I prefer Fall Creek, though Becker is good and closer to Fredericksburg.

Even if you stay in teh Frederickburg area, make a trip to Fall Creek over in Tow sometime. I think their wines are better, and the winery is nice. Oh, and the added benefit is that you can swing by Llano and hit Cooper's

One of my buddies works at at winery somewhere around here and Wimberley. He says he just gets to drink for free all day while he serves for the wine testing. I've been meaning to go down there, but I can't remember which one it is.

I'm certain there is a winery on 150 out in Driftwood (go past the Salt Lick and turn right on 150)
