There will be some great high school baseball this week with Moody vs Boerne Champion and Calallen vs Smithson Valley in Regional Semifinal Play.
 
my high school, the Pied Pipers of Hamlin, are still alive after beating #5 New Deal 2-0 in the series and will face our nemesis the Stamford Bulldogs for the 4th time next weekend--Hamlin is 2-1 vs Stamford this yr (tied for district title, won in one game playoff)---needless to say, this next weekend will be for a lot more...Go Pipers!!
 
No baseball when I went to Hamlin. I try to keep up by looking at the Abilene paper online. Read where they won that game this morning. Good luck to them the rest of the way.
 
Good Luck to Hamlin. Moody and Calallen both won so they will play for State Tournament this week. Both have a huge following, need a place available that can hold 4-5 thousand fans.

I have a friend from Sinton (not Bill) who's son played for Alaniz and said he's the real deal coach. I'm a little surprised we haven't tried to get him as an assistant of some kind. Or maybe we have.
 
If I could coach my alma mater in baseball, that would be a dream job I would come out of retirement for. I got no skins like Alaniz tho, so I have to be satisfied that a classmate I graduated with already did it and led them to a state championship.
 


At 40 seconds -- the forward charging LF should have called off the SS and 3B to make a moderately difficult catch. That probably cost Brock the game vs. Franklin.
